Holiday Tips

It’s that time of year again folks, where you try to juggle being a parent, going to work, and everything else that may be on your plate. Everything that’s happening is right now whether it’s a school play, deadline at work, or a holiday party. There is always so much to do and so little time to do it.

Here are some tips for the hard working people out there, trying to juggle the multiple roles they play in life.

Get your holiday tasks handled early

Thinking about Christmas in October seems too early, but if you start buying and sending out some holiday cards sooner then you know they will make it to their intended destination. Also, try to keep an eye out year-round for gifts you think your friends and family would enjoy. By storing them until Christmas, you’ll drastically cut down on that last minute shopping stress!

Remember why you started your business

You probably started a business to give food to your passion. As we get busy with the day-to-day tasks of the business we can quickly forget about our second reason, to spend time with our family and friends. Use this time to reflect on how much you enjoy spending time together and make sure you do more in the new year.

Get your work done early so you can play

Many people take the week between Christmas and New Year’s off, but some people keep on working right through the holiday even while they are at home. Your loved ones would prefer to spend time with you and not have you working the whole time. So plan out your weeks leading up to the break and get your work done ahead of time. That way, you can be fully present for the holidays. Your family will feel the difference and they will appreciate you for it.

Simplify client gift giving

If you give gifts to your clients, make it easy on yourself and get the same gift for all of them. Find something that everyone enjoys like a box of chocolates or a floral arrangement and cut down on the time it takes to find the perfect gift.
